PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given by the undersigned that there will be changes to the applicable rates for adapted and collective transportation services offered in the MRC of Charlevoix and in the MRC of Charlevoix-Est.
WHEREAS the Charlevoix RCM has declared its jurisdiction over public and adapted passenger transportation by adopting By-law #176-18 Declaring the jurisdiction of the Charlevoix RCM over public and adapted passenger transportation;
WHEREAS the Charlevoix-East RCM has declared its jurisdiction over public passenger transportation by adopting By-law #277-11-16 Declaring the jurisdiction of the Charlevoix-East RCM over public passenger transportation;
WHEREAS the Charlevoix-East RCM organizes an adapted passenger transportation service, as provided for by By-law #279-12-16 amending By-law 97-01-011 concerning the establishment of an adapted passenger transportation service for persons with disabilities and By-law 97-01-011 concerning the establishment of an adapted passenger transportation service for persons with disabilities.
WHEREAS, pursuant to sections 48.24 and 48.41 of the Transportation Act, the RCMs (Regional County Municipalities) must, by resolution, establish the various fares for users of public and adapted transportation services according to categories they determine;
WHEREAS, the Charlevoix RCM and the Charlevoix-Est RCM wish to formalize the fares applicable to the use of the adapted and public transportation services they organize, for the years 2024 to 2027;
THEREFORE, it was unanimously resolved to apply the fare schedule applicable to the use of public and adapted transit services organized by the Charlevoix Regional County Municipality (MRC) and the Charlevoix-Est MRC for each year from 2024 to 2027.
*Proof of age may be required for users wishing to take advantage of the Reduced fare or the Child fare. Proof of enrollment in an educational institution recognized by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Higher Education will be required for users wishing to take advantage of the Student fare.
These amendments were adopted pursuant to Resolution CA-2023-108 of the Council of Mayors of the Charlevoix Regional County Municipality (MRC) at its meeting held on October 25, 2023, and Resolution 23-10-39 of the Council of Mayors of the Charlevoix-East MRC at its meeting held on October 31, 2023. They will come into force in accordance with section 48.24 of the Transportation Act (chapter T-12) on January 1, 2024.
