Paratransit Service

Who can use the paratransit service?

Persons with disabilities as defined by law have priority in using the paratransit service. However, as this service is also a form of public transport, persons who do not meet this criterion will still be accepted, according to availability.

What does the law say about disabled people in order to have priority?

As defined by law, people with disabilities and prioritised for paratransit are those “with a deficiency causing a significant and persistent disability, who are liable to encounter barriers in performing everyday activities. This disability must limit the person’s mobility, capacity or autonomy to such an extent that they would be unable to use regular public transport services”.

How can I find out if I meet the definition of “disabled person” as defined by law?

To verify your eligibility or register for the paratransit service, you must ask a healthcare professional to complete the form provided for this purpose.

The form can be downloaded here Paratransit service application form and you will also need to send it to us. For more details, please visit the Paratransit Service page.

Can I fill out the form and book adapted transport for later?

Your application will be reviewed by the eligibility committee and must also be supported by the healthcare professionals involved in your case. You will receive a response regarding your eligibility within 45 working days following the reception of your application.

Can I use the paratransit service while awaiting the outcome of my application?

Yes. However, please note that priority for adapted transport will always be given to users who have received a favourable response to their application.

Luggage and Bags

Can I bring luggage with me during my trip?
